Gardens & Grounds
Gardens
The club is proud to have 10 acres of which 4 acres are entirely undeveloped and 6 acres are rolling, lush greenspace. Through the contributions of a number of club members, beautiful gardens are dispersed amongst the various recreational areas.
Fry's Spring
The spring for which the Fry's Spring neighborhood is named resides on lower part of the Fry's Spring Beach Club property. Named and established as a landmark sometime around the 1850s, for many years the spring was housed in a small gazebo-like structure with a stone font placed over the spring source. This landmark was widely known for medicinal uses due to high mineral content.
Over the years, this structure fell apart and the font went uncared for. In the spring of 2007, several members took action to preserve the font by moving the roughly half-ton font up from the spring and into the main lobby of the clubhouse. The font is now on display in the main lobby for all who visit Fry's Spring Beach Club.
Walking Trails
For the benefit of the Fry's Spring Beach Club members and the Fry's Spring neighborhood, there is currently an ongoing project to build trails that will connect the back of the club property on Old Lynchburg Road, the side of the club property on Jefferson Park Circle, and the main club parking lot. The goal is to provide safe walking trails that offer recreation and appreciation of the 4 acres of greenspace along Moore's Creek and Fry's Spring.
