As a result, it is not safe for anyone to swim or enter through the gate. This is critical for everyone's safety. We are checking-in with Dominion Power constantly to try to resolve the situation. Due to increasingly poor attendance, the volunteers and staff of the Fourth Wednesdays Dance night (previously known as Country Wednesdays) have decided to end the dances. We are sorry that the dances will not continue, but we could not justify the expenses with very little attendance and support.
Fry's Spring Beach Club still offers numerous spaces that are perfect for dance events or other social occasions. Please contact the General Manager if you would like to find out more.

Fry's Spring Beach Club needs your help this coming weekend! This weekend, the Charlottesville Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) will be starting off a project to help clean-up and clear downed trees on our 4 acres of undeveloped property. CERT will be contributing volunteers and supplies, but it is crucial that we also provide volunteers and supplies to make this effort a success.
Charlottesville Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
CERT is a group of local volunteers aimed at providing support for local emergency and clean-up efforts. These volunteers offer support in coordination with emergency personnel and provide leadership in training and emergency preparedness education.
The Fry's Spring Beach Club clean-up project will serve as training and practice sessions for CERT while also offering them the opportunity to recruit new members. Over the period of the project, they expect local firefighters and forestry workers to participate in the efforts.
This is your opportunity to come out and help Fry's Spring Beach Club and the Fry's Spring community. Your volunteer efforts will help this valuable greenspace to survive and continue to be available for the entire community. Ultimately, this clean-up effort will lead to a woodchipped walking trail that connects Old Lynchburg Road, Jefferson Park Circle, and the main Fry's Spring Beach Club parking lot. This will allow everyone to enjoy the spring and creek, while providing a safe path to and from Fry's Spring Beach Club.
CERT will be starting at 9AM on Saturday, March 8. Volunteers should be prepared with good shoes/boots and bring food and water. Any equipment that you can contribute to the volunteer efforts (ie. trimmers, bush hog, chipper, chainsaw, gloves, safety glasses) will be most appreciated.
The CERT leader for the day will be David Booth.
As of March 2008, Country Wednesdays will become a monthly dance event. Dances will take place during the same hours, but only on the last Wednesday of each month.
The current schedule of weekly dances will continue through the end of February 2008.
For more information: http://fsbc.net/activities_countrywednesdays.html
The weekly Country Wednesdays dance night will not be held on January 30. Please join us when we resume on February 6.
The weekly Country Wednesdays dance night will not be held on December 26 or January 2 due to the holidays. Please join us in 2008 when we resume on Wednesday, January 9.
Thank you for your continued support.
The weekly Country Wednesdays dance night will not be held on November 14 due to outside circumstances and on November 21 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Dancing will resume on November 28. The lesson for that week will be the country waltz. We hope to see everyone after the holiday.

Last weekend's BeCamp 'unconference' attracted a new crowd of people to Fry's Spring Beach Club and tested out the facility as a retreat or conference venue. Overall, the participants were thrilled with the experience and are already looking forward to the next round (possibly in October).

Experience and enthusiasm will benefit club
FSBC Members,
We are very excited and pleased to announce the hiring of Cristina Webster to the position of General Manager. Cristina's appointment follows the resignation of Greg Hussar who has brought so much to this position over the last six years. Cristina is coming to us following a long and successful tenure at Duner's restaurant.
Cristina impressed the board with her knowledge of how to balance the overall vision and branding of what FSBC is against the expectation of 100% customer satisfaction. We feel the membership will also be impressed with her ability to communicate the reality of FSBC's rich history and related future to the Charlottesville community. We are very happy that she has chosen to partner with us as we move forward to a very bright future."
- Ed Gillaspie, President.

Greeting from Cristina
"I am delighted to be a part of a community that promotes connection and well-being. I look forward to serving as a resource for the members of FSBC. I am sure that many long and cherished memories have been created at the club and that we will make plenty more. We are going to have a great 2007. See you all soon."
- Cristina Webster, General Manager.
