Welcome

The FSBC Dolphins are looking forward to another season of fun in and out of the water.

Readying for the Summer and Swim Meets

Our swim team begins practice for the summer swim season in May. Member swimmers from the ages of 4-18 are encouraged to swim on our team. We embrace all swimmers at all levels of readiness.

The Dolphins practice after school following the Memorial Day holiday; we practice in the mornings and/or afternoon after the conclusion of the academic calendar. Affording us ample practice space, our 50 meter pool, our middle pool, and our spacious-shaded grounds (utilized for land practice) enable our coaches to differentiate and individuate to the needs of our swimmers. Our 50 meter pool can also be used as a 25 yard pool, thus swimmers at FSBC receive both short course and long course training.

Swim Meets

FSBC participates in weekly meets starting in June. For the most part, the meets are held on Wednesday evenings. During the season we compete against teams from all over our community.

FSBC swims in the Jefferson Swim League. In the Jefferson Swim League (which was founded over thirty years ago), there are 16 teams of varying levels. The league is apportioned into three levels/tiers. This affords for exciting, competitive swim meets!

Swim meets at FSBC are great fun, but are not mandatory!

At the conclusion of the season, our team competes in a championship meet at the Aquatics Fitness Center on the grounds of the University of Virginia.

Social Events and More

Not only is FSBC a swim team that swims, the Dolphins are a team that has fun “out of the water.” The season is replete with social activities. For example, ice cream socials, dive-in movies, camping expeditions, lip-synchs, and pep rallies fill our evenings. After meets, our swimmers and parents enjoy an evening of friendship and pizza!

A swimmer, if he/she chooses, can purchase a suit at the commencement of the season. The FSBC Dolphins wear the colors red and black! We also have FSBC caps and bags for purchase.

Swimmers receive ribbons after the swim meets and each swimmer receives a trophy at the conclusion of the season at our annual end-of-the-season- banquet. The party is held at Fry’s Spring Beach Club; there is swimming, dancing, and fun for all!
